State Rookie Pairs

Congratulations to Phil Mathieu and Bel Bailey, who took part in the State Rookie Pairs qualifying last Saturday at Toongabbie Bowling Club.

The pair represented the club very well and did themselves proud against some tough competition, coming away with one win from their three games.

Great work, Phil and Bel!

Congratulations on Region Selection

Massive congratulations to Lynne Graham, Lan Lim, Sue O’Connell and Rhonda White, who have been selected in the upcoming Women’s Senior Quadrangular on Saturday 18 October at Castle Hill.

Well done, ladies, and Go the Chargers!

Major Minor Pairs

The Major Minor Pairs semi-finals are done and dusted, with some top-quality games played over the last week.

Last Saturday, Joy McCrossen and Phil Silk took on Gary Bernsdorff and Warren Whyte. It was a highly contested game, with the lead going back and forth throughout. Gary and Warren eventually took out the match 14–11.

On Tuesday evening, Bill Vines and Mike Brien took on Dillip Nagpal, who was filling in for Dennis Slater, and Mark Horan. From all reports, it was another high-quality game, with Bill and Mike coming away with the win.

That sets up a great final, with Bill Vines and Mike Brien taking on Gary Bernsdorff and Warren Whyte next Tuesday evening at 5pm.

Make sure you get down to the club and catch what should be a great game!

Junior Bowls Clinic

We held another very successful Junior Bowls Clinic on Tuesday, with kids ranging in age from 6 to 17 getting involved. It was fantastic to see everyone having fun, learning new skills and getting out on the green to demonstrate their bowling abilities.

A huge thank you to our wonderful group of volunteers who gave up their time to help, encourage and support the kids throughout the day. Your efforts helped make the clinic such an enjoyable experience for everyone.

Lohman Triples – Entries Open

Entries are now open for the Lohman Triples, with the event being played on Tuesday evenings commencing from 20 October.

This is a singles-entry competition, with random teams drawn together once entries have closed.

Get your entry in on the club notice board and get ready for some great Tuesday night bowls!

George Parry Fours – Entries Extended

The George Parry Fours has been moved back one week from the original dates on the board due to Region selections.

The competition will still be played on Saturdays throughout October and into November.

Entries have been extended, so make sure you get your entry in on the club notice board before 7 October!

Trivia Night

Our annual Trivia Night is coming up on Friday 9 October, and this is your last chance to get your table booked through the bar!

Tables are filling up fast, so make sure you get in quick and secure your spot for a great night of trivia, prizes and plenty of fun.

A couple of key things to know for the night – the bistro will be opening from 5pm to help with the rush of meals. Make sure you get in early and help spread the rush before trivia gets underway.
