Club Champions Update

Men’s and Women’s Minor Singles

The Minor Singles Championship is done and dusted for another year. Widely regarded as one of the toughest club championships to win, this year's event certainly lived up to expectations, with plenty of high-quality bowls played throughout the competition.

The Women’s Final was played last Wednesday evening between Paik Wah U and Vanessa Austin. Both ladies produced some excellent performances on their way to the final and should be proud of their achievements. In the end, Paik proved too strong on the night, claiming the title with a 25–9 victory over Vanessa. Congratulations to both ladies on a fantastic campaign.

The Men’s Final was another outstanding contest, with Anthony Horner and Ben Richards battling it out last Tuesday night. Both players faced a challenging path to the final, overcoming several tough opponents along the way. The match swung back and forth throughout the evening and, according to many spectators, was one of the highest-quality Minor Singles finals seen at the club in recent years. Anthony eventually claimed the championship with a thrilling 25–22 victory over Ben. Congratulations to both gentlemen on a fantastic final.

Club Mixed Fours

The stage is now set for two top-class semi-finals in the Club Mixed Fours Championship.

The competition will take a short break during the Australian Open and will resume on Saturday, 21 June with the semi-finals. Be sure to check BowlsLink or the championship board at the club for the full match-ups.

King’s Birthday Trading Hours & Bowls

The club will be open from 11:30am on Monday for the King’s Birthday public holiday.

Social bowls will commence at 1:00pm, so make sure you get your name down early and come along for an enjoyable afternoon on the greens.
