Club Champions Update

Mixed Pairs - Congratulations to the mixed pairs teams of Steve Vanderveer, Rhonda White and Andrew Pollock and Rebecca Cross for an entertaining final last Friday evening.

Steve and Rhonda were successful in securing the 2026 Mixed Pairs title with a 20–8 win. The score, however, did not reflect the caliber of the game, with Andrew and Bec keeping the scoring rate to 1 shot an end, particularly in the front end of the game.

Women's Fours - The Women's Fours final was contested last Sunday afternoon in a magnificent display of draw bowling.

Lynne Graham’s team, Thelma Morrison (lead), Sue O’Connell (second), Rhonda White (third), defeated Florence Lee’s team, Joy Young (lead), Paik Wah U (second), Pamela Lowe (third), 19–15.

Lynne’s team jumped out to an early lead until Florrie’s team found their form. The game was characterised by tight heads with magnificent draw bowling from the front four players. This was followed by weighted shots as the thirds and skips tussled for position.

It was great to see so many spectators, men and women, supporting the ladies and cheering on the teams.

Club Mixed Fours – All the action kicks off this Sunday with the first round being played. Stay tuned to BowlsLink for all the results.

Women’s & Men’s Champion of Club Champion Pairs

Best of luck to our club pairs champions as they begin their state campaign next week.

Ross Swain and Joe Baliva will get underway on Monday 25 May at 12:30pm at St John’s Park BC, where they will play the first of their three section games.

Our women’s champions, Joy Young and Yvonne Mudiman, will then begin their campaign on Tuesday 26 May at 9am, also at St John’s Park BC.
