CLUB UPDATES

It is with great sadness that we inform our members of the passing of Stan Oznobyshyn, aged 78.

Stan joined the club in 2007 and quickly became a much-loved and respected member of our community. He left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Stan was always the first to put his hand up to volunteer, whether it was helping out with the Friday night raffle or stepping in to umpire a game, Stan was your man. His selfless contribution and cheerful presence will be deeply missed.

Our thoughts are with Chris and their family during this difficult time.

The Women’s Minor Singles came to an end on June 12th, with a great final between Ruth Dwyer and Gerda Ekkelenkamp.

Ruth raced to a commanding 19–1 lead early in the match, but Gerda wasn’t going down without a fight. She clawed her way back to 23–12 before Ruth proved too strong, closing out the game 25–12.

This is a fantastic achievement for Ruth, especially after narrowly going down in last year’s final, 25–20.
