In a landmark achievement, the Castle Hill Bowling Club Chargers have delivered a stellar performance for both the Grade 3 and Pennant Cup titles at the Metro Northwest Open Gender Pennant Playoffs, held at NBC Sports. This marks the club’s first Open Gender Pennant flag win in 11 years, signaling a triumphant return to form.
The Grade 3 team delivered a commanding performance against Wenty Leagues, securing a 70-49 victory. This decisive win not only earned them the championship but also highlighted the team’s exceptional skill and determination throughout the tournament.
In a closely contested Pennant Cup final, the Chargers prevailed over NBC Sports with a 20–13 victory, reflecting their discipline and tactical edge.
Although the Grade 7 team didn’t walk away with a title, their campaign was commendable. After a tough quarterfinal outing, they went down 73-54 to The Hills Club.
Castle Hill Bowling Club President Noel Benson helped lead his Grade 3 team to the championship win. Benson said “It was awesome to see 40+ supporters from Castle Hill watch Grade 3 and Pennant Cup teams come away with the win. It’s great to bring success back to Castle Hill.”
These victories signify more than just titles, they represent a resurgence of the club’s prominence in the lawn bowls community. With strong leadership, dedicated players, and unwavering community support, the Chargers are poised for continued success in future competitions.
Wishing the Grade 3 team all the best as they head into the upcoming BCiB Open State Pennant Finals in late June.
